It’s all a question of timing…

Metric: Odd MetersThis week has seen the announcement of Metric: Odd Meter Drumloops from Big Fish Audio in the US. This got me thinking as I believe it is the very first sample library that is completely dedicated to recorded drum performances that are not in the conventional 4/4 signature. There are loops included in 3/4, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, and 9/4, a timing which it’s fair to say is rarely used today apart from the odd ‘experimental’ album track.
