Following on from the extremely popular Animato and Spiritoso titles, this week saw the release of the latest collection from sample pioneers Zero-G to form a trilogy of titles dedicated to introducing more realism to sampled instruments.

Luminoso: Live Violin Phrases is a 15GB collection of thousands of live recorded 6-bar looped phrases performed by two world-class violinists from the Liverpool Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. We caught up with the library’s producer Dan Graham and invited him to write a guest post about why he created the library and how he did it. Over to Dan… Read More

Spiritoso: Live Cello Phrases

Today sees the release of a new sample collection from Zero-G – Spiritoso: Live Cello Phrases. Produced by Dan Graham, the man behind last year’s sample library smash Animato: String & Flute FX for Cinema, the library features thousands of live recorded cello phrases, rhythms, chords and arpeggios played by cellist Ian Bracken from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Here’s what he had to say… Read More

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

AnimatoZero-G’s latest sample library release ‘Animato: String & Flute FX for Cinema‘ has jumped straight to the top of the Time+Space Top 10 products shipped list and going by the positive feedback from users in the forums, and the current demand for cinematic libraries, it’s set to stick around for some time.

Recorded with instrumentalists from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Animato contains a whopping 3000 samples and 139 separate Kontakt instruments each with its own custom GUI created especially for this project.

The sounds range from chaotic, tense effects to beautiful undulating pads and whilst initially developed for soundtrack composers, the sounds certainly wouldn’t sound out of place in contemporary music tracks.

We wanted to find out more about the making of Animato so we invited Dan Graham, the producer of the library, to write a special ‘Guest Post’ for our blog. So, over to Dan… Read More
