Reason TutorialsEvery now and again we come across something that we just have to blog about. If you are on the Propellerhead mailing list then you’ll already know about this so forgive us, but Propellerhead product specialist James Bernard is posting 52 free individual tutorial videos on the Propellerhead website. He’s currently on number 49 and each one is a well produced and provides a very useful insight into a specific aspect of Propellerhead Reason or Record.

Many of you will know James Bernard from his appearances at shows and exhibitions all over the world over the years in his role as product specialist at Propellerhead, there is nothing this guy does not know about Reason! So if you haven’t already, head over and check out the videos

John B has been a shining beacon in the world Drum and Bass scene for many years now. His first album – ‘Visions’ was released back in 1997 and launched his career as one of the most innovative producers at the cutting edge of the UK dance scene.  Subsequent releases on Metalheadz and his own label Beta have cemented his place and position as a true DnB pioneer.

John’s sound and style has evolved considerably over years, starting as more jazzy in the early days, then trancey and now more 80s/Electro – check out the eye make-up! He is also one of the busiest DJs on the circuit with a large fan base all over the world. Each week, the presenters are challenged to complete a specific task using various gadgets and technology, and this week’s assignment required them to re-produce the show’s theme tune without using real instruments. Cue increased interest from Time+Space staff…

As the presenters were shown researching their task, the video of Spectrasonics’ Diego Stocco’s infamous burning piano from the Omnisphere recordings appeared on screen to great exclamations from presenter Jason Bradbury…

“Wow, he’s setting fire to a piano. This guy is an absolute nutcase, it’s certifiable. But I like it.”
